Freedom House Museum is a National Historic Landmark owned by the Northern Virginia Urban League. Freedom House Museum is located in the basement level of one of the most infamous slave trading companies in the country at 1315 Duke Street. The Carlyle House is a Georgian manor house built in 1753 by Scottish merchant and city founder John Carlyle for his bride, Sarah Fairfax of Belvoir.
